My film would be a light-hearted comedy about an actor being offered a cameo role in an upcoming comedy. In this cameo, he would be asked to play himself: a broke, 45-50 year old action movie star who still takes himself seriously even though the rest of the world sees him as a washed-up has-been. He is reluctant to take the role, and as he seeks advice, he realizes that the only people he can go to (agent, accountant, therapist, etc.) are not really his friends but just business associates. The reason his career and life are a mess is because he has pushed away all of his friends or anyone that wanted to be his friend. And that is when a 20-something girl shows up at his door claiming to be his long-lost daughter. This revelation convinces him that it is time to grow up and move forward with his life. And rather than pushing her away, he chooses to be more open and honest with her than anyone he has met in a long time.

Detailed Plot Summary
The opening scene starts with an unshaven Danny Chase asleep in bed in the middle of the day. He stumbles out of bed, throws on a robe, and starts walking through his large, empty house. As he is walking through a hallway, we see 6 movie posters from the action movie franchise that he owes his fame to. The first 3 posters look like legitimate blockbusters, while the final 3 are increasingly over-the-top to the point of ridiculousness. He finally reaches his kitchen where he reaches into the refrigerator and pulls out a large steak. He then walks down another hallway to a clear cage where he feeds the steak to his pet tiger (yeah, it’s a bit over the top, but I like the idea of a bankrupt movie star wasting money on a pet tiger).
